AWS Lambda Supports Java 25 for Serverless Applications
🚀 AWS Lambda now supports Java 25, using the latest long‑term support distribution from Amazon Corretto. The runtime is available as a managed runtime and as a container base image, and AWS will automatically apply updates to each as they are released. The release introduces new language features and performance improvements, including Ahead‑of‑Time caches and adjusted tiered compilation defaults. Lambda Snap Start and Powertools for AWS Lambda (Java) support Java 25, and the runtime is available in all Regions, including GovCloud (US) and China.

Amazon Corretto October 2025 LTS Security Updates Released
🔔 Amazon released quarterly security and critical updates for Amazon Corretto LTS builds on October 21, 2025, providing new binaries for Corretto 25.0.1, 21.0.9, 17.0.17, 11.0.29 and 8u472. The distributions for Generic Linux, Alpine and macOS now include Async-Profiler, a low‑overhead sampling profiler that captures CPU, heap and native allocations, contention and hardware/software counters. Downloads are available from the Corretto home page or via Apt, Yum and Apk repositories, and contributors can provide feedback on the Corretto GitHub.

Amazon Corretto 25 LTS Released with OpenJDK 25 Enhancements
🚀 Amazon Corretto 25 is now generally available as a Long Term Support release, providing a production-ready distribution of OpenJDK 25 for Linux, Windows, and macOS. The release promotes experimental JDK 24 features to production-ready status — notably Compact Object Headers and Generational Shenandoah GC — and introduces AOT caching, language refinements, expanded observability, Structured Concurrency, Vector API improvements, and reduced virtual-thread pinning. Amazon will support Corretto 25 through October 2032.
