Amazon GameLift Streams Adds AWS Health Lifecycle Alerts

🔔 Amazon GameLift Streams now integrates with AWS Health to deliver automated lifecycle notifications for stream groups. AWS Health will send reminders on day 45 and day 150 about upcoming restrictions at day 180, and a final reminder on day 335 before automatic expiration on day 365. Stream groups older than 180 days cannot add new applications. The feature is available in all Regions at no extra cost, and the ExpiresAt field in the GetStreamGroup API or the Stream group details page in the console shows status.

Accounts receive reminders on days 45 and 150 warning that adding new applications will be restricted after day 180, with a final re-creation reminder on day 335 before expiration at day 365. The feature is available in all AWS Regions at no additional cost, and expiration details are visible in the console or via the GetStreamGroup ExpiresAt field.

Amazon GameLift Servers Adds Built-in Telemetry Metrics

📊 Amazon GameLift Servers now includes built-in telemetry metrics across all server SDKs and game engine plugins, powered by OpenTelemetry, to generate, collect, and export client-side metrics for game-specific insights. The feature can be configured to collect and publish telemetry from game servers running on managed Amazon EC2 and container fleets, supporting both pre-defined and custom metrics and exporting to Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus or Amazon CloudWatch. Visualizations are available via Amazon Managed Grafana and Amazon CloudWatch dashboards to help optimize resources, improve player experience, and surface operational issues. Amazon GameLift Servers: View and Connect Instances

🔍 Today, Amazon GameLift Servers added console capabilities to view and connect to individual fleet instances directly from the EC2 and Container Fleet Detail pages. A new Instances tab lists associated hosts and each instance has a details page presenting human-readable metadata (also available via GameLift Server APIs). From the list or detail view you can press a Connect button to open a modal and launch AWS CloudShell to start an SSM session into the instance, enabling hands-on inspection, log retrieval, and faster diagnosis of network and health issues.

Amazon GameLift Streams Adds IPv6 for Windows Streaming

📡 Amazon GameLift Streams now supports IPv6 for streaming applications hosted on Windows-based stream groups, enabling dual-stack connectivity (IPv4 and IPv6) for streamed Windows applications. This enhancement gives customers additional addressing options and helps meet IPv6 compliance requirements while preserving compatibility with existing IPv4 deployments. Note that Linux runtime applications will continue to require IPv4 for streaming; the capability is available in all AWS Regions where GameLift Streams is offered.

Amazon GameLift Servers: Dallas Local Zone Launches

🎮 Amazon GameLift Servers now supports the new AWS Local Zone in Dallas, Texas (us-east-1-dfw-2), enabling fleets to deploy EC2 C6gn, C6i, C6in, M6g, M6i, M6in, M8g, and R6i instances. From the GameLift Servers Console you can enable the Dallas Local Zone and add it to your fleets like any other Region or Local Zone. This launch lets studios run latency-sensitive multiplayer, AR/VR, and tournament workloads closer to Dallas-area players for single-digit millisecond latency and improved responsiveness.
