Amazon MQ Adds LDAP Authentication to RabbitMQ Brokers

🔐 Amazon MQ now supports LDAP authentication for RabbitMQ brokers in all AWS regions, allowing brokers to authenticate and authorize users against LDAP identity providers. Administrators can manage users and assign permissions to topics and queues using credentials stored in their LDAP server. LDAP support can be enabled when creating or updating brokers via the AWS Console, CloudFormation, CLI, or CDK, and remains compatible with standard RabbitMQ LDAP implementations.

Amazon MQ Launches in AWS Asia Pacific (New Zealand)

🚀 Amazon MQ is now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (New Zealand) Region (API name ap-southeast-6) with three Availability Zones. The managed message broker supports Apache ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ, reducing operational overhead by managing provisioning, setup, and maintenance. Because it uses industry-standard APIs and protocols, customers can migrate applications to AWS without rewriting code. With this launch, Amazon MQ is now offered in 38 AWS regions globally.

Amazon MQ Adds OAuth 2.0 Support for RabbitMQ Brokers

🔐 Amazon MQ now supports OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization for RabbitMQ brokers, allowing client and user authentication via JWT-encoded access tokens in single-instance and Multi-AZ cluster deployments. You can enable OAuth 2.0 through the AWS Console, CloudFormation, CLI, or CDK, and the feature is available in all regions where Amazon MQ is offered. Compatibility with standard RabbitMQ OAuth 2.0 implementations helps ensure a smooth migration for existing deployments.
