AWS Cloud WAN Routing Policy for Traffic Control, Flexibility

🌐 AWS has announced the general availability of AWS Cloud WAN Routing Policy, delivering fine-grained controls to optimize route management and traffic behavior across global wide-area networks. The feature supports route filtering, summarization, and advanced BGP attribute configuration to limit unnecessary route propagation, prevent asymmetric or sub‑optimal paths, and contain reachability blast radius. It also exposes enhanced routing database visibility for faster troubleshooting in complex multi‑path hybrid environments. Routing Policy is available in all Regions where Cloud WAN is offered and can be enabled via the Management Console, CLI, or SDK at no additional charge.

AWS Cloud WAN expands to Thailand, Taipei, New Zealand

📡 AWS Cloud WAN is now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Thailand), AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei), and AWS Asia Pacific (New Zealand) Regions. Using a central dashboard and policy-driven model, you can connect Amazon VPCs, AWS Transit Gateways, and on-premises locations via AWS Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Direct Connect, or supported SD‑WAN products. The service automatically builds a global network using BGP and provides a consolidated view to monitor network health, security, and performance.

AWS Cloud WAN Now Available Across AWS GovCloud Regions

🛰️ AWS has made AWS Cloud WAN available in AWS GovCloud (US-West) and AWS GovCloud (US-East) as of Oct 1, 2025. The service provides a central dashboard and policy-driven networking to create a global network that spans VPCs, Transit Gateways, and on-premises locations. It supports BGP-based global route exchange and connectivity via Site-to-Site VPN, Direct Connect, or third-party SD-WAN solutions. The dashboard offers consolidated visibility into network health, security, and performance to simplify operations.
