🚀 Amazon has made EC2 C8g instances available in AWS Europe (Milan) and AWS Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Osaka, Melbourne). These Graviton4-powered instances deliver up to 30% better compute performance than Graviton3-based instances and are optimized for compute-intensive workloads such as HPC, batch processing, gaming, video encoding, distributed analytics, CPU-based ML inference, and ad serving. Built on the AWS Nitro System, C8g instances provide larger instance sizes (including bare metal), up to 50 Gbps enhanced networking, and up to 40 Gbps EBS bandwidth to improve both performance and security.

These memory-optimized instances deliver up to 30% better performance versus Graviton3-based R7g instances and are suited for databases, in-memory caches, and real-time big data analytics. Built on the AWS Nitro System, R8g offers enhanced performance and security with larger sizes (up to 48xlarge and 1.5 TB RAM), up to 50 Gbps networking, and up to 40 Gbps EBS bandwidth.

Amazon EC2 I8g Storage-Optimized Instances in Ohio

🚀 Amazon Web Services has announced general availability of Amazon EC2 I8g storage-optimized instances in the US East (Ohio) region. Powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and third-generation Nitro SSDs, I8g delivers up to 60% better compute and up to 65% improved real-time storage performance per TB, with lower I/O latency and variability. Built on the AWS Nitro System, these instances target I/O-intensive, low-latency workloads such as transactional databases, real-time analytics and AI pre-processing. Ten sizes, including a metal option, provide up to 45 TB local NVMe storage and high network and EBS bandwidth.

Powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and the AWS Nitro System, R8g delivers up to 30% better performance than Graviton3-based instances for memory‑intensive workloads. The family includes 12 sizes (two bare‑metal options), scales up to 48xlarge with 1.5 TB RAM, and offers up to 50 Gbps enhanced networking and 40 Gbps to Amazon EBS. AWS recommends the Graviton Fast Start program and Porting Advisor to help migrate workloads.
