🤖 Amazon CloudWatch pipelines now offers AI-assisted processor configuration that translates plain-language instructions into pipeline processor definitions. In the CloudWatch console, enable the AI-assisted option at the processing step, describe the transformations you need, and receive a generated processor configuration plus a sample log event to validate output before deployment. This reduces setup time and lowers the need for deep processor expertise; the feature is available at no additional cost where the service is generally available, while standard CloudWatch Logs ingestion and storage rates still apply.

🔒 AWS Glue now supports OAuth 2.0 for native Snowflake connectivity, allowing customers to read from and write to Snowflake without sharing persistent user credentials. This token-based authorization uses temporary access tokens to eliminate credential management, enabling granular permissions and improved auditability. The built-in AWS Glue Snowflake connector with OAuth is available in all AWS commercial regions, simplifying secure data integration.

🚀 AWS has expanded AWS Transform custom to six additional Regions — Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney), Canada (Central), and Europe (London). The service enables organizations to modernize and transform code at scale using AWS-managed and customizable transformations to upgrade languages, migrate frameworks, optimize performance, and analyze codebases. 🚀 Amazon announced general availability of Amazon MSK Serverless in 13 additional AWS Regions across Asia Pacific, Europe, Israel, and Mexico. The serverless cluster type eliminates manual capacity provisioning by automatically scaling compute and storage, allowing teams to run Apache Kafka workloads on demand. This expansion improves regional availability and can reduce latency and operational overhead for streaming applications.

🚀 AWS has made Amazon EC2 G7e instances generally available in the Los Angeles Local Zone (us-west-2-lax-1b), bringing high-performance GPU compute closer to end users. G7e instances combine NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs with 5th-generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Emerald Rapids) processors to support creative workflows such as studio workstations, VFX editing, color correction, and enhanced real-time rendering. They are also targeted at AI workloads including LLM deployment, inference, and agentic AI at the edge; availability is via On Demand and Savings Plans and you can enable the Local Zone through AWS Global View or launch instances from the EC2 console, AWS CLI, and SDKs.

📍 Amazon Location Service now supports bulk address validation for the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, enabling large-scale address cleaning, standardization, and correction. The feature checks addresses against authoritative postal data, returns confidence and deliverability indicators, and can optionally include geocodes for US, Canada, and Australia. Customers submit jobs via the new Jobs API by uploading records to their own Amazon S3 buckets and retrieving enriched results when processing completes.

⚡ Amazon Aurora Serverless now runs on platform version 4, delivering up to 30% improved performance and an enhanced scaling algorithm that better understands bursty, idle, and unpredictable workloads, including agentic AI applications. The update shifts capacity allocation so the service scales with agents rather than against them and continues to scale down to zero when idle. New clusters, restores, and clones default to version 4; existing clusters can upgrade via maintenance actions, stop/start, or blue/green deployments. Verify platform version in the AWS Console or via the RDS API using ServerlessV2PlatformVersion.

🛡️ AWS Backup now supports including Amazon Redshift Serverless namespaces and Amazon Aurora DSQL clusters directly as resource types in AWS Organizations backup policies. The capability is available in all AWS Commercial and GovCloud Regions where AWS Backup and the services are offered. 🚀 AWS has made the AWS Lambda Durable Execution SDK for Java generally available, giving Java developers native tools to author resilient, long-running workflows using Lambda durable functions. The SDK automates checkpointing, supports waits of up to a year for external events, and provides durable invocation, callback integration for human/agent-in-the-loop flows, and a local testing emulator. Compatible with Java 17+, it can be deployed on Lambda managed runtimes or container images.

🔁 Amazon Quick Automate now provides StartAutomationJob and DescribeAutomationJob APIs that let external applications start automations and retrieve job status and structured outputs programmatically. Developers can pass typed input schemas and integrate automations into event-driven workflows. The APIs are available via AWS SDK and CLI across supported Regions. Common uses include invoking automations from application events, coordinating multi-service tasks, and running batch operations with dynamic inputs.

📞 Amazon Web Services announced that Amazon Connect Outbound Campaigns can now dial contacts in a configurable priority order using up to 10 profile attributes for voice campaigns and voice activities in journeys. Initial attempts are prioritized over reattempts to preserve ordering during campaign execution. The capability is available in all AWS Regions where Outbound Campaigns is offered at no additional cost and is configured via Amazon Connect Customer Profiles. Elastic Volumes lets you increase size, change type, or adjust performance without detaching volumes or restarting instances. The enhancement is automatically available and permits starting a new modification immediately after the previous one completes, improving operational agility for sudden data growth or workload spikes.

🔁 Quick Automate now supports secure export and import of automation versions across automation groups, AWS accounts, and Regions. The feature packages workflows, runtime configuration, and step metadata into an encrypted link protected by AWS KMS; export links remain valid for 12 hours and are reusable, eliminating repeated exports. It speeds promotion between environments and enables point-in-time snapshots for recovery. Note that connectors, credentials, and human-in-the-loop queues are excluded and must be reconfigured.

🔔 Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS) now provides Microsoft Windows Server licensing entitlements, allowing customers to migrate or create Windows Server VMs in EVS and obtain licensing directly from AWS. Administrators configure an EVS connector to their VMware vCenter and supply VM IDs via the console or CLI. Licensing is charged on a per vCPU‑hour basis and can be added or removed at any time; the feature is available in all Regions where EVS is offered.

🛡️ AWS IoT Greengrass v2.17 now supports running the edge runtime as a non-root user on Linux, helping organizations meet security and compliance requirements that prohibit root access. The update adds an uninstall lifecycle action for components and introduces nucleus lite optimizations — including a Secure Tunneling lite component (~4 MB), TPM 2.0 support for fleet provisioning, and a PKCS#11 interface for HSM-backed authentication — to reduce memory consumption. v2.17 is available in all Regions where Greengrass is offered.

🚀 Amazon DocumentDB now supports an in-place major version upgrade from MongoDB-compatible 5.0 to 8.0 via the AWS Management Console, AWS SDK, or AWS CLI. Version 8.0 delivers up to 7x faster query latency and up to 5x improved storage compression, and introduces features such as collation, views, new aggregation stages and operators, enhanced text search with text index v2, and much faster vector index builds (up to 30x). In-place MVU is available in all Regions where DocumentDB 8.0 is offered at no additional cost.

🔐 Amazon EKS now supports seven new IAM condition keys for cluster creation and configuration APIs, giving organizations finer-grained governance over cluster settings. Administrators can enforce private-only API endpoints, require customer-managed KMS keys for secret encryption, restrict approved Kubernetes versions, mandate deletion protection, set control plane scaling tiers, and enable zonal shift. The keys apply to CreateCluster, UpdateClusterConfig, UpdateClusterVersion, and AssociateEncryptionConfig APIs and integrate with Service Control Policies for centralized multi-account enforcement. They are available in all Regions where EKS is offered at no additional charge.

⚡ Amazon Connect Outbound Campaigns now supports hourly segment refresh, reducing the minimum refresh interval from 24 hours to one hour. This lets campaigns enroll newly eligible customers throughout the day instead of waiting for a daily run. The capability applies across all campaign types, is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Connect Outbound Campaigns is offered at no extra cost, and can be enabled via the console or the API by turning on the Refresh option.
