Global Execs Rank Disinformation, AI and Cyber Risks

🧭 Business leaders across 116 economies told the World Economic Forum that misinformation/disinformation, cyber insecurity and the adverse outcomes of AI rank among the top near-term threats to national stability. The WEF’s Executive Opinion Survey 2025 canvassed 11,000 executives, who placed technological risks alongside economic and societal concerns. Respondents flagged AI-driven deepfakes, model exploitation and AI-assisted cyber techniques as amplifiers of both disinformation campaigns and critical-system threats.

Pro-Russia Information Operations After Drone Incursion

🔎 Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) observed coordinated pro-Russia information operations responding to reported Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace on Sept. 9–10, 2025. Actors amplified narratives denying Russian culpability, blaming NATO or Poland, and seeking to erode domestic and international support for Ukraine. GTIG documented activity across multiple networks and languages and noted these operations leveraged both long-standing and recently developed influence infrastructure.

Majority in Germany Sees Threat from Hybrid Attacks

⚠️ A YouGov survey commissioned by the digital policy briefing Digitalwende for Süddeutsche Zeitung Dossier reports that 61% of more than 2,000 respondents view the threat from hybrid attacks as strong or very strong. The poll describes hybrid attacks as combinations of cyber operations, military actions and disinformation aimed at destabilizing societies. Perceived risk differs by party: Greens (72%), Union (71%), SPD (67%) and AfD (49%).
