🚀 Amazon announced second-generation Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP is now available in four additional Regions: Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad), South America (Sao Paulo), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). The second-generation file systems deliver greater performance scalability and flexibility compared with first-generation deployments, enabling up to 12 highly-available (HA) pairs per file system. That configuration provides workloads with up to 72 GBps of throughput and up to 1 PiB of provisioned SSD storage. You can deploy second-generation Multi-AZ file systems with a single HA pair, and Single-AZ file systems with up to 12 HA pairs, broadening choices for redundancy and capacity.

🔁 Microsoft announces Azure NetApp Files Elastic zone‑redundant storage (ANF Elastic ZRS), a managed multi‑AZ file service that synchronously replicates data across three or more availability zones to deliver high availability and resiliency. The service provides automatic, service‑managed failover while preserving the same mount target and service endpoint to minimize application disruption and ensure zero data loss. ANF Elastic ZRS supports NFS and SMB, ONTAP data management features (snapshots, clones, backup), metadata performance optimizations, and cost‑efficient single‑volume multi‑AZ availability.

🔒 AWS Transfer Family now enables access to Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems over SFTP, FTPS, and FTP by routing transfers through S3 Access Points. This complements native NFS/SMB access so you can preserve existing internal workflows while offering industry-standard secure transfer protocols to partners and users. Access control is enforced using IAM policies and S3 Access Point configurations, and the capability is available in select AWS Regions.

🚀 Google Cloud announced enhancements to NetApp Volumes, adding unified iSCSI block and file storage to support SAN migrations and NetApp FlexCache for high-performance local caching in hybrid environments. The service integrates with Gemini Enterprise as a data store for retrieval-augmented generation, and includes large-capacity volumes, SnapMirror replication, and auto-tiering to optimize performance and costs.

🌐 Amazon Web Services now supports IPv6 access for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems. Customers can connect using IPv4, IPv6, or dual-stack clients without requiring translation infrastructure, simplifying IPv6 adoption and compliance with mandates such as OMB M-21-07. IPv6 is available for new file systems across all AWS Commercial and GovCloud regions; existing systems will receive support during an upcoming maintenance window.
