Nutanix and Palo Alto Networks: Integration for Model Trust

🔒 Nutanix and Palo Alto Networks have integrated Prisma AIRS into the Nutanix Enterprise AI platform to embed automated AI model scanning and continuous red teaming directly into the MLOps pipeline. The integrated solution scans models at check-in, analyzes dependencies for known vulnerabilities and license issues, and validates provenance and file formats to block backdoors or unsafe execution paths before deployment. It also provides API-driven red teaming with a context-aware agent and a large, continuously updated attack library so teams can test resilience and prioritize business-relevant risks without complex setup.

Securing Hybrid Multicloud and Nutanix Enterprise AI

🛡️ At Nutanix .NEXT 2026, Palo Alto Networks highlighted an expanded integration delivering native, automated security across Nutanix environments and was named Nutanix 2026 Global Security Partner of the Year. The partnership extends Layer‑7 protection via VM‑Series virtual firewalls, consistent hybrid cloud policies for Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2), and Panorama-driven automation. A forthcoming integration embeds Prisma AIRS into Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) to enforce AI Model Security, continuous AI Red Teaming, and unified visibility so only validated models reach production.

Untangling Hybrid Cloud Security: Unified Defense & Control

🔒 Hybrid and multicloud environments have expanded the attack surface, creating operational complexity and fractured visibility across public clouds, private data centers and edge locations. Palo Alto Networks and Nutanix recommend an open, unified security layer that enforces consistent policies, provides inline east‑west visibility, and uses tag‑driven automation to ensure protections follow workloads. This approach aims to replace fragmented point solutions with cohesive, scalable defense-in-depth.

Nutanix NC2 Now Generally Available on Google Cloud

🚀 Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) is now generally available on Google Cloud, enabling organizations to run their Nutanix hybrid cloud directly on Google Compute Engine bare metal without refactoring workloads. NC2 supports the Z3 and C4 machine families with high-density NVMe local SSDs, integrates Nutanix Flow virtual networking, and maintains unified management via Prism Central. The solution connects to Google data and AI services like BigQuery and Vertex AI, supports license portability, and will be purchasable through Google Cloud Marketplace.

Akira Ransomware Expands to Nutanix AHV and Linux Servers

⚠️CISA, the FBI and international partners warn that the Akira ransomware gang has extended its attack surface beyond Windows, VMware ESXi and Hyper‑V to now target Nutanix AHV and Linux servers. The group exploits exposed VPNs, unpatched network appliances and backup platforms, rapidly exfiltrates data and employs a double‑extortion model. Akira uses tunneling tools like Ngrok, remote‑access abuse (AnyDesk, LogMeIn), and cryptography (ChaCha20 with RSA) to encrypt and leak files. Organizations should prioritize MFA, timely patching, segmented networks and protection of backup and hypervisor consoles.

CISA: Akira Ransomware Now Targets Nutanix AHV VMs

🛡️ U.S. cybersecurity agencies warn that the Akira ransomware operation has expanded to encrypt Nutanix AHV virtual machine disk files, with the first confirmed incident in June 2025. Akira Linux encryptors have been observed targeting .qcow2 virtual disk files directly rather than using AHV management commands. The advisory cites exploitation of SonicWall CVE-2024-40766 and includes new IOCs and mitigation recommendations.
