🔒 Oracle has introduced Database Security Central, a tool that provides a centralized view of security risk across database environments and will be free through February 2027. It arrives as attackers increasingly target Oracle database flaws and following Oracle’s move to monthly patch releases. The tool assesses posture, detects configuration drift, highlights privileged access risks, monitors sensitive data access, and centralizes policy management and audit evidence collection.

🔗 AWS announces general availability of AWS Interconnect - multicloud for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enabling customers to provision resilient, scalable private connections between AWS and OCI. The service simplifies multicloud networking that previously required complex DIY solutions. OCI entered public preview in May and now joins Google Cloud as a supported provider; Microsoft Azure support is expected later in 2026. The feature is available in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region and can be created via Console, CLI, or API.

🔧 Smart Tiered Cache now supports public cloud regions by accepting a user-provided region hint. Cloudflare maps ambiguous anycast or regional unicast origins to the correct cloud region so it can select optimal primary and fallback upper tiers, improving cache efficiency and reducing hairpin latency. The feature is available via dashboard, API, and Terraform and initially supports AWS, GCP, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

🔌 AWS now offers a free 500 Mbps Interconnect - multicloud tier to simplify private connectivity between AWS and other public clouds. The open specification behind Interconnect is already adopted by Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with Microsoft Azure planned later in 2026. The free tier provides a fully managed, resilient path (one local Tier 1 Interconnect per customer per region) and includes an Amazon CloudWatch Network Synthetic Monitor at no additional cost. Other CSPs set their own charges for their side of the link, so customers should review third-party pricing before creating an Interconnect.

Dublin, Mumbai, and Hyderabad offer two Availability Zones while London and Seoul currently provide one; CA-Central-1 and AP-Southeast-2 now support two AZs for enhanced production availability. To consume the service, request a private offer from Oracle via the AWS Marketplace and provision databases through the AWS Management Console.

The launch simplifies migration of on‑premises Exadata workloads and helps meet in‑region data residency requirements. To consume the services, customers request a private offer from Oracle via the AWS Marketplace and provision resources through the AWS Management Console.

🔐 Check Point has extended CloudGuard Network Security to provide full auto-scaling support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, enabling firewalls to grow and shrink automatically with workload demand. The integration leverages OCI Instance Pools to automate deployment and scaling of security gateways, while preserving centralized policy control. This update broadens CloudGuard’s native support across 20 public and private cloud vendors, delivering consistent security and operational agility as customers move workloads to OCI.
