🚀 Amazon has launched EC2 G6 instances powered by NVIDIA L4 GPUs in the Middle East (UAE) Region, expanding cloud GPU capacity for graphics and ML workloads. G6 instances offer up to 8 L4 GPUs with 24 GB per GPU, third-generation AMD EPYC processors, up to 192 vCPUs, 100 Gbps networking, and up to 7.52 TB local NVMe storage. They are available via On-Demand, Reserved, Spot, and Savings Plans and can be managed through the AWS Console, CLI, and SDKs.

🚀YARA-X 1.0.0 is now stable, delivering a Rust-based, memory-safe engine while preserving broad compatibility with existing YARA rules. YARA-X runs heavy regular expressions and deep loops roughly 5–10× faster than the legacy YARA 4.x engine and returns clearer, line-accurate error messages. The CLI adds colored output, JSON/YAML dumps, shell completions and a built-in formatter to improve tooling and developer workflows. VirusTotal reports stable, production use in Livehunt and Retrohunt at scale and encourages users to test and provide feedback.

🔔 AWS announced general availability of new memory-optimized Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i‑flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors. AWS says these instances deliver up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x the memory bandwidth of prior Intel-based generations, with up to 20–60% faster results on targeted workloads. R8i provides 13 sizes including a new 96xlarge and SAP certification, while R8i‑flex offers common, cost-efficient sizes from large to 16xlarge. Instances are initially available in N. Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, and Spain and can be purchased via On‑Demand, Spot, or Savings Plans.

🔐 PAN-OS 12.1 Orion delivers a framework for quantum-ready and multicloud security, combining automated asset discovery, continuous risk assessment and centralized management via Strata Cloud Manager. It introduces an industry-first cipher translation to make legacy applications quantum-safe, plus quantum-optimized fifth-generation NGFW hardware for high-scale PQC inspection. The release also expands AI-driven detections and one-click deployment across AWS/Azure/GCP.

🔒 Palo Alto Networks announced a portfolio of quantum security innovations in PAN-OS 12.1 Orion and new fifth‑generation NGFWs to help organizations accelerate quantum readiness. The company introduces a Cryptographic Inventory in Strata Cloud Manager to identify and remediate weak or vulnerable cryptography. It delivers PQC support for NIST and prestandard algorithms and hybrid classical/post‑quantum options for VPNs and TLS. A new cipher translation proxy preserves legacy systems while migration proceeds, and Palo Alto Networks is advancing QRNG and QKD standards through industry initiatives.

🛡️ CISA, in partnership with Sandia National Laboratories, released Thorium, an automated, scalable malware and forensic analysis platform that consolidates commercial, custom, and open-source tools into unified, automated workflows. Thorium is configured to ingest over 10 million files per hour per permission group and schedule more than 1,700 jobs per second, enabling rapid, large-scale binary and artifact analysis while maintaining fast query performance. It scales on Kubernetes with ScyllaDB, supports Dockerized tools and VM/bare-metal integrations, and enforces strict group-based access controls along with tag and full-text filtering for results.

🛡️CISA published a no-cost Eviction Strategies Tool, developed with MITRE, to help cyber defenders build tailored incident response plans and adversary eviction strategies within minutes. The package includes COUN7ER, a database of atomic post-compromise countermeasures, and the Cyber Eviction Strategies Playbook NextGen web app to match findings to countermeasures. It exports results in JSON, Word, Excel and markdown and is available under the MIT Open Source License.
