Amazon FSx Adds File Server Resource Manager Support

🗂️ Amazon FSx for Windows File Server now supports File Server Resource Manager (FSRM), enabling file classification, file screening, folder-level quotas, and storage reporting for managed Windows file systems. FSRM events can be published to Amazon CloudWatch Logs or streamed to Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose and used to trigger AWS Lambda for automated responses and workflows. The capability is available today at no additional cost for new file systems across all Regions where FSx is offered; existing file systems will gain support during a scheduled maintenance window.

Amazon FSx Integrates with AWS Secrets Manager for AD

🔒 Amazon FSx now integrates with AWS Secrets Manager to store and manage Active Directory domain service account credentials for FSx for Windows File Server and FSx for NetApp ONTAP Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs). This removes the need to supply plain-text service account usernames and passwords in the console, APIs, CLI, or CloudFormation, and enables credential rotation and improved credential hygiene. The capability is available in all AWS Regions where FSx is offered.

Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP Adds IPv6 Support in AWS Regions

🌐 Amazon Web Services now supports IPv6 access for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems. Customers can connect using IPv4, IPv6, or dual-stack clients without requiring translation infrastructure, simplifying IPv6 adoption and compliance with mandates such as OMB M-21-07. IPv6 is available for new file systems across all AWS Commercial and GovCloud regions; existing systems will receive support during an upcoming maintenance window.

Amazon FSx for Windows File Server Adds IPv6 Support

🌐 Amazon FSx for Windows File Server now supports IPv6, enabling new file systems to be accessed over IPv4, IPv6, or dual‑stack clients without requiring address translation. The capability is available immediately in all AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) regions where FSx is offered; existing file systems will receive IPv6 during an upcoming maintenance window.
