Amazon DynamoDB Streams Adds AWS PrivateLink FIPS Endpoints

🔒 Amazon DynamoDB Streams now supports AWS PrivateLink for all available Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) endpoints in US and Canada commercial Regions. Customers can establish private VPC interface connections to Amazon DynamoDB Streams FIPS endpoints instead of routing traffic over the public internet. This capability helps organizations meet business, compliance, and regulatory requirements that limit public internet connectivity. Supported Regions include US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), and Canada West (Calgary).

Amazon OpenSearch Serverless Adds FIPS Endpoints in Regions

🔐 Amazon announced that Amazon OpenSearch Serverless now offers FIPS compliant endpoints for Data Plane APIs in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), Canada (Central), AWS GovCloud (US-East), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). The update brings the service into conformance with FIPS 140-3 cryptographic requirements. Customers in regulated or federal environments can use these endpoints to meet in-transit cryptography controls.

Amazon EKS Auto Mode Adds FIPS Support in GovCloud

🔐 Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) Auto Mode is now available in AWS GovCloud (US-East) and (US-West), automating compute, storage, and networking management for Kubernetes clusters. Its AMIs include FIPS-validated cryptographic modules to help meet FedRAMP-style requirements. EKS Auto Mode handles OS patching, leverages ephemeral compute to reduce persistent attack surface, and dynamically scales EC2 instances to optimize costs while maintaining availability; it supports clusters running Kubernetes 1.29 and later with no upfront fees.
